Financial Implications of THE GREEN HOUSE® Model

An article published in the 2011 issue of the Seniors Housing and Care Journal that received the GE Healthcare Finance Award for Best Paper. This article evaluates at the Green House model versus the traditional institutional skilled nursing facility model by comparing staffing requirements, organizational and environmental design, and building and maintenance costs.

The findings presented in the article show that while the Green House model offers more direct care and nursing time, it results in cost neutral operations or possibly even modest savings over the traditional institutional model.
